2012

I have been in the desert lately, no longer in the valley!  I have been THRISTY but never hungry!  I have been blessed by God in sooo many ways and recently He has showered me with monetary provision!  Two days before Christmas Eve I went to my mailbox and in there was a card from "friends" with $400 cash!  Two wonderful women from River(my church) asked if they could have the boys' Christmas wish list and they bought everything on there!  Then on Christmas morning two long time friends from my church came over with a mini Christmas tree with $20 dollar bills and $100 dollar bills as ornaments!  A very sweet young lady also gave me a hundred dollars simply because she felt God had told her to!  Most amazingly of all was when my dear friend and husband gave me a big check just so I could wait on God to open a door!  Right now I am working part time at Great Harvest Bread Company making $8 an hour.  Not exactly what I thought God had planned for me when I decided to go back to school and continue on to get licensed as an addictions counselor, but that income is coming to an end.  I have been searching for a job since August, after I resigned from Preferred Family Healthcare as their teen addictions counselor.  I don't have the time or the patience right now to write down what has been happening in my life to lead me here to this dry desert but beginning next week I will enter into yet another season of fincancial uncertainity?  So, I am challenging myself to be faithful with what I have now and what will soon come from my garden.  For the year of 2012 I am going to attempt to feed my three growing boys, ages 12, 9 and 8 and myself on a hundred dollars a month.  I am going to allow myself a few loop holes such as being able to trade with friends for other goods or services.  I am grateful to have a freezer full of meat right now and dried herbs and fruit and some canned goods.  I am also truly grateful to have the shire(the empty plot of land next to my house) and when spring comes you can find me out there pretty much anytime I am at home!!  I am already planning what I will plant this season and I can't wait till spring!!! I have so much more to share but I have three projects going on at home and 2 frustrated boys!  It is winter break:-)
